Heavy rains force Galveston to dump sewage into bayou

A Galveston sewage plant was forced to dump 75,000 gallons of partially treated sewage into Offatts Bayou following heavy rains in the city, a spokeswoman said yesterday. Thunderstorms dumped an unusually large amount of water on the city Tuesday, overwhelming the Airport Wastewater Treatment Plant, spokeswoman Kala McCain said.
