With one Los Angeles County resident dying every eight minutes from the coronavirus, the region's air quality regulator has temporarily suspended pollution limits on crematoriums. The emergency order was issued by the South Coast Air Quality Management District at the request of both the county coroner and the health department. It specifically suspends limits on how many cremations can be performed per day and will last 10 days unless extended by the district.
