Incentives needed to save water

Water companies on average save only a mug of water per customer per day through promoting water efficiency, according to a new report from the Institute for Public Policy Research published on September 18. The authors of the study, Every Drop Counts: Achieving Greater Water Efficiency, recommend that the Government introduces a voluntary water saving scheme to be followed in 2015 by a statutory Water Efficiency Commitment, similar to that for energy.
