Setback for privatization hopes

Hopes amongst private waste disposal companies for an opening of the wastewater market to newcomers in the state of North Rhine Westfalia have been undermined after state environment minister Eckhard Uhlenberg announced the "privatization option," including the proposal to allow water associations to takeover sewage networks would not after all be included in the planned revision of NRW water law.
