摘要

The most interesting facts to emerge from this year's record of doom and gloom known as Vital Signs, produced by the US' WorldWatch Institute, concern the buildup to Hurricane Katrina which hit New Orleans to such devastating effect on August 29, 2005. The striking conclusion to be drawn is the way in which such events are prompting major companies - and not just the insurance companies - to take seriously the question of the environmental impact of corporate operations.
