Latest twist on Disi transfer

Jordan's Water & Irrigation Ministry has invited international companies to express interest in the build-operate-transfer contract for the much-delayed Disi water conveyance scheme. Interested companies reportedly include the consortium headed by Saudi Oger, which in June 2004, during the first, abortive attempt to develop Disi on a BOT basis, had been selected as the preferred bidder. The consortium included a joint venture of Athens-bases Consolidated Contractors International Company and Turkey's Tekfen as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor.
