Scottish Water chairman resigns

The chairman of Scottish Water, Professor Alan Alexander has resigned following the Scottish Executive's rejection of Scottish Water's delivery plan for 2006-2010. The resignation followed a brief meeting with environment minister Ross Finnie on February 20 when Professor Alexander was told that the Executive did not believe Scottish Water could meet the objectives contained in the plan. The minister said the chairman had resigned after "a very profound disagreement."
