Plan B: Part 3

In the April 2007 issue of BATE, we began to look at some of the issues and solutions raised by Lester Brown in his book, Plan B 2.0: Rescuing a Planet Under Stress and a Civilization in Trouble. Plan B's concept is based on the idea that "Plan A" represents the status quo, which Brown explains relies on a global market place that has incentivized the overconsumption of resources to a point that growth is unsustainable. Plan B, in contrast, means "telling the ecological truth" in economic and policy decision. Plan B results in a faster movement to sustainable technologies. This month, we finish up our look at some of the book's intriguing statistics and ideas for changing the status quo.
