Even though uncertainty still remains regarding international requirements for greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and reporting, the past several years have seen tremendous growth in both demand for, and availability of, GHG accounting software. Recent studies indicate that this market trend is likely to continue - a 2008 report by S2 Intelligence (Australia) predicted global expenditures on GHG accounting will reach US $595 billion by 2015, with US businesses spending $91 billion.
