Reply to the discussions by Huang, C.C. on 'Analytical modeling of geogrid reinforced soil foundation' [Geotextiles and Geomembranes 27(2), 2009, pp. 63-72]

Firstly, the authors would like to thank Huang (discusser) for his interest on the work and for his helpful comments. Four main points are made by the discusser: (1) the influence of cohesion intercept of moist soils; (2) the selection of failure mechanisms; (3) the parameters in the authors' model; and (4) the cohesion-related scale effect on the value of bearing capacity ratio (BCR). All these points are addressed below in the aforementioned stated order.
