摘要

This is the second volume of a special issue of ASTM Geotechnical Testing Journal which was stimulated by recent research developments in the experimental characterization of the mechanical and hydrological properties of unsaturated soils, as well as an increasing awareness of the need to implement research in this area into geotechnical practice. Although unsaturated soil mechanics has been the subject of extensive research over the years, this special issue created an opportunity to highlight innovative techniques developed to investigate new phenomena encountered in practice, as well as practical methods to measure properties used in geotechnical analysis and design.
