Short note a new approach to offshore drill-bit reverse vertical seismic profilinig(RVSP)

A new technology for acquiring of drill-bit offshore data is presented using marine streamers towed by a vessel. The method will exploit the performance of the existing onshore while-drilling prototype, which can sort and process CP gath- ers before correlation. The advantages of this approach may be lower costs for acquiring extended offset data by using simpler offshore operations with 3-D RVSP configurations and in deep water. Limitations are foreseen for the continuous acquisition of RVSP levels, since this method does not work in stormy weather conditions.
