摘要

The area of study is in the Cental Graben, between the Heera-Panna-Bassein Platform and the Eastern Homocline, within the Mumbai Basin off the west coast of India (Figure 1). The area is considered prospective because of its proximity to the Central Graben (a known hydrocarbon kitchen) and the presence of carbonate and sandstone reservoir rocks in adjoining areas to the southwest. In this part of the basin, sandstones in the Paleocene to Lower Eocene sequences and carbonates in the Middle to Upper Eocene sequences are dominant reservoir rocks.
