スペイン南西部の港湾都市ヴイゴにある大学の広い 新キャンパスの中に，さまざまな学部の学生と教師 の社会的なニーズに対応するための中心的なスペー スをつくるように依頼された。敷地そのものが，非 常に挑戦的なもので，最近，樹木が切り払われ裸に なった急斜面の山腹である。%Within the larger new university campus at Vigo, EMBT was invited to create a central space to accommodate the social needs of students and teachers of the different Faculties. The site itself was very challenging: a steep and bare mountainside, that had been recently deforested. We decided to create a plateau around one gradient of the mountain and to organize the campus buildings along this new level, allowing access between the different buildings to happen across a flat surface. The plateau itself invited the creation of landscape alongside the building, leading the users past artificial lakes, pergolas and newly planted woods. Within this new landscape the elements of building and landscape compete to transform the topography.
