QUANZHOU MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART (QMoCA)

The Quanzhou Museum of Contemporary Art will act as the beacon for the redevelopment of the former industrial district of Quanzhou into a cultural and commercial destination. Our proposed masterplan forms a continuous green zone extending from the existing flour factory to the proposed Hang Lung Mall. The planning and placement of the buildings and their respective programs is sensitive to existing historic structures such as the east and west pagodas and the flour factory. QMoCA and the pagodas are nearly identical in height, forming a strong visual relationship across the city. Together, they will define an important axis in the city, connecting significant achievements of the past to the present.
