摘要

This paper reports the effect of temperature on phase behaviours and phase diagrams of a bio-oil model system consisting of pyrolytic lignin (PL), mixed solvent (MS) and water at 0-40 degrees C. An increase in temperature from 0 to 40 degrees C shifts the phase conversion curve in the ternary phase diagram towards the direction of substantially increasing PL solubility in the MS/water mixture. This leads to the maximal PL solubility in the MS/water mixture increasing from similar to 161 to similar to 229 g PL per 100 g of MS/water mixture. The results further clearly demonstrate that at 0-40 degrees C, if the water content is below critical thresholds (similar to 11-18 wt% at sugar concentrations of 5-7 wt%), the effect of sugars on phase stabilities and diagrams must be considered. Such a critical water content increases with increasing sugar concentration but reduces with increasing temperature.
