Combat Aircraft. The Omani Air Force relies on two platforms, the F-16 and the Eurofighter Typhoon, to provide air-power. Oman acquired its F-16s beginning in the early 2000s and added more under a follow-on buy in 2011. The Typhoons, meanwhile, were acquired as replacements for the Air Force's SEPECAT Jaguars. With both of the fighter jets in service, Oman's requirements for fighter aircraft are likely filled for the time being. However, the country will continue to be a customer for armaments for its aircraft and will turn to international partners for maintenance, retrofit, and overhaul services as the aircraft progress through their lifecycles.
