Beer and wine continue to be popular drinks in the United States. According to the Beer Institute, the Washington, D.C.-based trade association, American brewers annually produce more than 66 billion 12-oz servings of malt beverages, including beers, ales, lagers, and stouts. And according to the Wine Institute, the San Francisco-based trade association for California wines, American winemakers annually produce more than 554 million gallons of wine and wine coolers, with California wineries producing 92% of the wine.
