Our series on the heritage of current RAF Squadrons, The Way We Were, covered FIt Sub-Lt Reginald Warneford's time with 201 Squadron and the shooting down of the airship LZ37 during the night of June 6/7,1915. Filip de Moor of the Netherlands writes: "When LZ37 fell victim to Warneford's bombs it crashed in flames at St Amandsberg, close to Ghent in Belgium. Warneford's name will continue to be remembered, as a street was named after him and a plaque commemorates the events of that night. The plaque is not to be found in Warnefordstraat but is nearby, opposite the town hall and church."
