A new supporters' club has been established to allow enthusiasts to get closer to one of the UK's premier warbird operators. The North Weald-based Hangar 11 Collection was formed in 1999 by Peter Teichman primarily to buy, restore and fly a number of original World War Two fighters, and so far has been very much a private organisation.rnIt has acquired a Supermarine Spitfire, North American P-51D Mustang, Hawker Hurricane and Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. The team has undertaken a programme of mechanical and cosmetic improvements to ensure that each example is as close to the condition in which it left the factory as possible.
