Phantom cockpit on the move

Having appeared at Newark Air Museum's annual CockpitFest on June 18 and 19 (and winning the Cockpiteers Award), the cockpit of McDonnell Douglas FGR.2 Phantom XV490 is due to find a new home at the Wattisham Airfield Museum in Suffolk, having spent the summer at Newark. Once in Suffolk it is believed the cockpit will be displayed in one of the former hardened aircraft shelters that XV490 may have occupied when the complete aircraft operated from the base.
