摘要

Following thousands of hours of restoration by Avspecs over nearly eight years, de Havilland Mosquito FB.26 KA114 has taken to the skies in New Zealand. The 'Wooden Wonder' flew three displays at Ardmore on September 29 in the hands of former military and seasoned 'warbird' pilots Dave Phillips and Keith Skilling during an event staged in honour of this very special aircraft. There were smiles all round, especially for the three key people responsible. Owner Jerry Yagen and restorers Warren Denholm and Glyn Powell must have felt emotions that few get to experience as they watched the display. (See the November FlyPast for our From the Workshop on the Mosquito project.) Thanks to the determination of these three we have witnessed something that many have longed for since the last airworthy Mosquito crashed in July 1996.
