Veterans gather at Biggin Hill

Several World War Two veterans, including some who flew in the Battle of Britain, gathered at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar on September 18 for a day of commemoration. Among those present were Wg Cdr Bob Foster dfc, Flt Lt Rodney Scrase dfc and W/Os Maurice Macey and Peter Duckett. Wartime members of various squadron ground crews and WAAF radar operators also attended. A display by Clive Denney flying Biggin Hill-based Supermarine Spitfire IX TA805 Spirit of Kent completed the day and ignited many memories for the assembled veterans.
