New Flying Fortress for Liberty Foundation

The Liberty Foundation of Tulsa, Oklahoma, has acquired Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress The Movie Memphis Belle 44-83546, and plans to make it available for pleasure flights. The aircraft, formerly operated by the Tallichet family's Military Aircraft Restoration Corporation, replaces the Foundation's previous B-17G Liberty Belle which was destroyed by fire after making an emergency landing on June 13,2011. The new B-17 is a 'star' of the 1990 film Memphis Belle - and is not to be confused with the original Memphis Belle which is currently being restored at the National Museum of the USAF in Dayton, Ohio.
