'Bay of Pigs' A-26 Invader

A Douglas A-26C Invader on show near the Wings Over Miami museum has now been fully restored to static display standard. It is dedicated to the American and Cuban pilots who lost their lives during the ill-fated Bay of Pigs assault, an unsuccessful invasion of southern Cuba carried out by a CIA- trained force of Cuban exiles. The aircraft is now in good external condition thanks to work by volunteers from the museum's Cuban Society. It is painted as 44-35440 of the Cuban Air Force. Currently on loan from the Ohio-based National Museum of the USAF, it has a long and varied Douglas A-26C Invader '44-35440' on display near the Wings Over Miami museum.
