Beaver's new lease of life

DHC Beaver VH-YKY is being refurbished and repainted by Beaver specialists AirAg at Bankstown, New South Wales, Australia. Built in 1964, it was firstly shipped to Australia as VH-IDN and earned its living as a crop sprayer until 1986 when it became a float plane, carrying tourists and sightseers on trips around the coast. In 1990 it was re-registered as VH-AQU. Now sporting a new livery, the aircraft is back on floats and has been allocated its latest registration. After completing a test flight programme, it will fly to new owner Tasmanian Air Adventures of Hobart, Tasmania, with whom it will carry sightseers around the southern capital's harbour.
