He 115 display unveiled

The remains of a Heinkel He 115 have been put on display at Fort Veldhuis, the home of the Stichting Aircraft Recovery Group 1940-1945, near Amsterdam. The floatplane crashed in 1940 in the Umeer, near the former Schellingwoude seaplane base. In 2005, parts of the machine were salvaged from the water, and have been preserved and restored as much as possible. Both of the Heinkel's engines are now displayed in a diorama. The powerplants are 'attached' to a full-scale illustration of the He 115.
