Jim Slattery's Grumman F7F-3N Tigercat made its first post-restoration flight in the capable hands of Steve Hinton on June 7. Tigercat N379AK has been brought back to 'life' by WestPac Restorations at Colorado Springs, Colorado. This aircraft is of particular historical note because, unlike most Tigercats, it was never used as a fire-bomber or 'civilianized' in any way. A fine example of a 'factory condition' F7F, it was recently flown from Colorado Springs to the EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It is one of two of the twin-engined Grummans owned by Jim, the second is currently being restored by Fighter Rebuilders at Chino, California.
