Spitfire connection

In the December issue you have the story of the 'Biggin Hill Spitfire flies again' on page 8. On page 9 it is stated that this particular aircraft had been a gate guardian at RAF Leconfield in 1957. Also, on page 20 in 'Briefings' you show a photo of two former EE Lightning pilots -Wg Cdr John Ward and Sqn Ldr Ken Bailey. Attached is a photograph of cadets of 221 Squadron (Great Yarmouth) ATC at summer camp showing the 'Biggin Hill Spitfire' when it was at Leconfield. In this photograph, standing, extreme right, is Corporal John Ward who went on to join the RAF and became a Lightning pilot - the very same John Ward mentioned in 'Briefings'. Also, standing extreme left in the photograph is Sgt Colin Dawson, who eventually became Commanding Officer, Norfolk Wing Air Training Corps, based in Catton, Norwich.
