摘要

The preserved remains of one of the undercarriage legs and wheels of de Havilland Mosquito XX KB267, an aircraft flown by Wg Cdr Guy Gibson vc, have been put on display at Gilze Rijen in the Netherlands. The Mosquito artefacts can be seen within the base's recently modernised museum wing that focuses on the history of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historical Flight. It can only be visited by appointment. Gibson and Sqn Ldr Jim Warwick dfc were killed when they crashed in this aircraft at Steenbergen on September 19,1944. Two local roads have been named after the airmen, and one of the Mosquito's propellors is located in the city park as a memorial.
