The highly anticipated first flight of de Havilland Mosquito B.35 VR796 (CF-HML) is moving closer, as Canadian organisation Victoria Air Maintenance (VAM) continues to make progress with its restoration. The propellers have been fixed into position and the final touches, including nose art, made to the paintwork. The Mosquito will fly as LR5O3 "GB-F". a machine that served with the RAF's 105 Squadron and later flew on a publicity 'tour' of Canada. The aircraft's new nose art features a cartoon mosquito dropping a bomb on a fleeing Hitler. The VAM machine was built by Airspeed in 1948 and was later operated by Spartan Air Services of Ottawa, Ontario, from 1954 until 1963.
