'Flying Flea' takes to the air in Sweden

Almost 80 years after it was designed by Frenchman Henri Mignet, newly built Pou-du-Ciel (Flying Flea) SE-XJH has made its first few flights in Sweden. To comply with modern aviation safety rules, the Swedish Flea has been modified from the original design, although few differences are visible externally, save for the wing profile. Another change is the movement of the fuel tank from the forward part of the wing to behind the pilot. After completing a test flight programme, co-owner Bjorn Zereba reported the aircraft was easy to fly and land, partly thanks to its increased stability. Featuring folding wings, it is also easy to transport by road. Its display debut took place recently at the F11 Museum airshow at Skavsta, outside Nykflping in Sweden.
