'Paraguayan' Texan flying in Australia

North American AT-6D Texan VH-MDP is expected to return to the air shortly following engine tests and the completion of its annual inspection by Aerial Agriculture in Bankstown, New South Wales, Australia. The trainer was one of a batch of 48 originally delivered to the Paraguayan Air Force (FAP). By 1991, two had been allocated to the FAP's Historic Flight and the remainder withdrawn from use. Eighteen were subsequently sold to private owners in the US while the rest were sidelined and left to deteriorate until discovered in the jungle many years later.
