Ancient Wings

A rough translation of Ailes Anciennes, a grouping of enthusiasts passionately preserving France's aeronautical heritage, is 'Old Wings' or 'Ancient Wings'. The organisation's full name is La Federation Franchise des Ailes Anciennes and the Toulouse branch was founded in 1980. Since then the collection has faced several moves around the perimeter of Toulouse Blagnac Airport. These migrations have reflected the growth of its neighbour, the giant multinational Airbus. Initially sited among green fields at Colomiers, the area was chosen to site the final assembly line of the A350 widebodied twin. In 2010 the move was made to hardstandings at St Martin du Touch, a temporary lodging and two years later Ailes Anciennes Toulouse settled in at its present venue, close to Aeroconstellation, the A380 'Super Jumbo'factory.
