The world's population of flying Lockheed P-38 Lightnings rose to nine when P-38L 44-53186 was flown to Chino, California by Steve Hinton on May 24. Formerly at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, the aircraft has been acguired by the Collings Foundation. It will undergo some maintenance work from Steve's Fighter Rebuilders crew in the Planes of Fame Air Museum's restoration hangar before being passed on to its new owner.
