With an eclectic mix of 20 historic aircraft, Aero Legends is the UK's biggest historic-flights business. Even during lockdown it has remained busy, continuing to grow the company with additions to the fleet, including a Yak-3, and developing its maintenance offshoot, Vintage Aero."We did 30 flights on Sunday, 70 flights over the three days, then,on Monday, we had to get all the aircraft back to their bases before the 45kt crosswind set in," said Ben Perkins, MD of Aero Legends. "We had Spitfires, Tiger Moths and Harvards scurrying all over the country to keep out of the wind."Over the past seven years, Aero Legends has grown and grown, which, Ben reckoned, reflects the impressive volume and quality of flying experiences it delivers. It operates from Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent and North Weald Airfield in Essex, and its ethos is all about the quality and safety of its flights. These are enhanced by employing only the best pilots and staff, along with a host of volunteer enthusiasts who help to keep its iconic aircraft flying. "Included in our 20 aircraft are two Tiger Moths, two Harvards and two - soon to be three - Spitfires." said Ben.
