Phantom restored in Czech Republic

The Letecke Muzeum (Aviation Museum) of the Czech Republic's Military History Institute at Kbely airfield, near Prague, has unveiled its latest restoration, McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR.2 XT899/B. Formerly of the RAF's 19 Squadron, the aircraft had been painted in a dark blue commemorative scheme prior to retirement at Wildenrath, Germany. It was donated to the museum in 1992 and for several years was displayed outside where it suffered during the frequently harsh Czech winters.
