Memories of Stafford's Proctor

The RAF Museum storage facility at Stafford (Tip of the Iceberg, January issue) is a veritable Aladdin's cave of aviation artefacts. I was pleasantly surprised to see Percival Proctor III Z7197 among them. It was pictured on page 41-it's more than 50 years since my last encounter with this airframe.This Proctor was part of the extensive static display gathered together at RAF Abingdon in Oxfordshire for the Royal Review and RAF 50th anniversary commemorative display held there in June 1968.1 include an image showing the Proctor in F Hangar at the airfield earlier that year alongside Jet Provost T.4 XS219, a weekend visitor to the station.
