Australian F-111 jets on the move

General Dynamics F-111C A8-132, an aircraft that served with the RAAF's Aircraft Research and Development Unit (ARDU) will be going to the South Australian Aviation Museum later this year. It will replace the Port Adelaide attraction's RF-111C, which is being moved to Canberra's Australian War Memorial. The former ARDU machine flew from RAAF Edinburgh between 1979 and 1988, taking part in more than 30 weapons trials. Following completion, A8-132 was assigned to RAAF Amberley and joined the rest of the F-111 fleet in the fighter-bomber role until it was retired in 2010. Prior to moving back to Edinburgh for display, the F-111 was repainted in its original ARDU colours.
