Prowler arrives for display in Ohio

The MAPS Air Museum in North Canton, Ohio, has unveiled its latest acquisition, Grumman EA-6B Prowler 163047.The aircraft was initially assigned to Electronic Attack Squadron 141 [VAQ-141] on May 27,1988, based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, in Oak Harbor, Washington. It was transferred to VAQ-129 at the same location the following month. On November 4,1989 the jet was deployed as part of Carrier Air Wing Six aboard USS Forrstal to the Mediterranean Sea as part of the US Sixth Fleet. It also served from Aviano in Italy from April 13,1999, and flew combat operations over Serbia during Operation Allied Force. Further postings included stints in Turkey and finally, Qatar, from March 2018. It arrived at MAPS on January 17 this year for decommissioning and display.
