Star of Alberta

摘要

Alberta province owns and operates the Reynolds-Alberta Museum, but its current existence is thanks to the vision of one man. Stan Reynolds, an enthusiastic collector, entrepreneur and then owner of the privately held Reynolds Museum, approached the government of Alberta in 1974 with the idea of donating his vast collections to the province. His dream, to develop an internationally recognised museum of mechanisation, was realised in 1992 when the facility opened. Stan has been recognised for his contributions to the preservation of history with the Order of Canada, the Alberta Order of Excellence and, in 2009, was inducted as a member of Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame for his contributions to preserving the country's airborne history. Here are some of the developments at the museum since my visit.
