From the time I was a kid, one of the planes that really grabbed me was the Curtiss P-6E Hawk. It was one of many plastic models I built back then, and when I got into R/C modeling back in the early '70s, it was on the short list of scale planes I intended to build. You know what they say about intentions, and guess what never got built, even though a number of Hawk kits, like the old Royal P- 6E, were available down through the years. "Were" is the key word here, because suddenly they were all gone until Great Planes introduced their 1/5 scale P-6E Hawk in an ARF kit.
