摘要

Nostalgia: the tug in one direction that makes us look searchingly in the other. So why is nostalgia such a big thing? It's a curious thing to ask; after all, the question is posed by your devoted scribe, who at this moment is listening to a '60s "garage rock" music program on the local underground radio. Both the typing and the radio listening are taking place at the computer. Now, back when I started to write this column, it was on a Brother "XL" typewriter, double-spaced on a legal-sized sheet of yellow foolscap. I don't miss CorrecType at all!
