In the FM Clinic September 2008 column you had a hint on soldering a washer on the landing gear. A great idea; I used it for years. Now I mount my washers using J&B Weld. I use a piece of cardboard where he used the plywood and mount all the gear at one time, so I can mix one batch of J&B. The curing time is another thing, which can be overnight if you plan it right or while another project is being done. The mounting methods vary, depending on the type of gear for the current job. Many of my friends use this method because they have problems with soldering, others because of the prep time. Cleaning the area with alcohol is all it takes.
