On the occasion of a press conference, taking place at the DECOSIT 2003, a representative of the Belgian Association for Textiles (FEBELTEX) gave an overview about development of market in Belgium. Some of the mentioned aspects are also relevant for other countries. Better than many other sectors within the Belgian textile industry, and possibly better than in most neighbouring countries, the Belgian upholstery fabric industry has managed to keep its head above water fairly well during the difficult economic times we have been facing throughout virtually all of Western Europe since mid-2000.
