The duties of Senior Operations Officer (Flight Operations Inspector) is mainly deployed on flight operations matters including - (a) determining the operational suitability of applicants for the initial issue of Air Operator's Certificates (AOC), and determining and reporting upon the level of operational safety of the holders of AOCs and ensuring that the holders are aware of any deficiencies found during inspections, and following up on remedial actions taken; (b) conducting station and ramp inspections, flight inspections, simulator approvals, the examination of persons nominated by operators for appointment as Authorised Examiners and the renewal of these appointments, and the continued monitoring of the Examiners as required by the International Civil Aviation Organization; (c) approving all flight crew training courses and operator's flight time limitations schemes, and liaising with operators on specialist subjects such as Low Weather Minima Operations, ETOPS, GPWS, inertial navigation equipment, TCAS, Satellite Communication Systems and RVSM; and (d) exercising the delegated authority under specified Articles and Schedules of the AN(HK)O 1995. You are required to travel extensively on duty and work irregular hours.
