The aircraft cabin aloft has for some time now been the last refuge from mobile phone chatter, but soon even at 30,000ft we will be able - or fated - to learn that a fellow passenger is "on the plane". Stricdy speaking we are there already, of course: for several years now web surfing, email and phone calls have been available at altitude, and the first seatback-mounted, credit card-accepting telephones were flying at least 20 years ago.
