While most manufacturers that called press conferences at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) presented new products, engine builders took advantage of the venue to describe the successful operation of their 2004 models and what fleets can expect in 2007. Additionally, they all said that 2007-ready engines will be available later this year for fleet testing, which will hopefully help avert a major pre-buy such as the industry endured prior to the effective 2002/2004 emissions date.
