On 14 April the Institution of Fire Engineers (North West Branch) held a seminar entitled Crime and Disorder - the fire service role, offering delegates the opportunity to learn about the challenges presented by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. On introducing the points for discussion at this seminar, Bob Docherty emphasised the fact that crime and disorder manifests itself in many ways. He added that agencies need to look for practical solutions to reduce the number of crimes committed against society 1998.
