Minister calls time on FireControl project

The Controversial FireControl project is to be scrapped after the UK Government and the project's main contractor concluded that it cannot be delivered to an acceptable timeframe. Set up five years ago, the project aimed to replace England's 46 standalone fire and rescue control rooms with a national network of nine regional control centres.
